Visiting Taj Mahal, Agra | Seventh Wonder of the World Review

Taj Mahal, Agra, India is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and it should be. Constructed by Shah Jahan to showcase his love for one of his three queens, he built this marble wonder, the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a Mosque made from pure ivory-white marble and located on the banks of the sacred river Yamuna. Taj Mahal attracts more than 6 million visitors a year, and I got a private visit when no visitors or tourists were permitted. So is it worth visiting this wonder?

The Taj Mahal is as beautiful as it looks in all the photos. The magnificent architecture and the flashy white marble make it one of the most iconic structures in the world. I drove down from Delhi to Mathura to Agra. And frankly, the highways are managed beautifully. It was a very peaceful drive, and I didn’t find much stress about it.
The next part is entering the city itself. The streets are not maintained properly, and some areas stink disgusting. You can spot open drainages close to this monument. It’s embracing because many tourists from other nations visit this monument. However, the surrounding of the monument is clean and well maintained.
The car or any vehicle is not permitted to go beyond a certain point, so you should take a long walk. Beware of the scammers who identify themselves as guides and will trick you into purchasing additional services like photography, sweets, jewels etc. Do not entertain anyone because all the information is available online. Also, there will be many people outside selling or forcing you to buy, do not entertain.
Once you enter the gateway, buy the ticket at the counter and make sure you keep it until you exit the monument. The first view will be of the red entrance gate. Once you walk further inside the gate, you will be the beautiful monument.
You can carry your camera or hire a camera guy to take pictures of you sitting, standing or even holding the top part of the Taj Mahal, which is standard. You can also walk close, as well as, go inside the Taj Mahal by paying an extra some, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The interiors have Muslim whiting on them and two tombs at the centre.
That is it! There is nothing else to see there!

Conclusion

A one-time visit would be great, but please stop believing that it is a monument of love. That is one bogus scam. A couple of hours’ visit to Agra would be enough as there is nothing else to do there.
