Matcha Green Tea Nice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled, sliced, and frozen
  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar (optional, depending on your sweetness preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Optional toppings: sliced strawberries, chopped pistachios, coconut flakes

Instructions to make Matcha Green Tea Nice Cream:

  1. Freeze the Bananas:
    • Before making the ice cream, ensure you have ripe bananas sliced and frozen. It’s recommended to freeze the banana slices for at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
  2. Blend the Frozen Bananas:
    • Place the frozen banana slices in a high-powered blender or food processor. Pulse or blend until the bananas become crumbly.
  3. Add Matcha and Sweetener:
    • Add matcha green tea powder to the blender. If you prefer additional sweetness, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or agave nectar. Add vanilla extract for extra flavour if desired.
  4. Blend Until Smooth:
    • Continue blending the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender or food processor as needed.
  5. Adjust Consistency:
    • If the ice cream is too soft, you can transfer it to a container and freeze it for an additional 30 minutes to an hour to firm up. Alternatively, enjoy it immediately for a softer texture.
  6. Serve:
    • Scoop the Matcha Green Tea Nice Cream into bowls or cones.
  7. Optional Toppings:
    • Garnish with sliced strawberries, chopped pistachios, coconut flakes, or your favourite toppings.
  8. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy your homemade Matcha Green Tea Nice Cream immediately as a refreshing and healthier frozen treat.

This Matcha Green Tea Nice Cream is not only delicious but also packed with antioxidants from the matcha. Feel free to experiment with different toppings or mix-ins to customize it to your liking.
